the president has received from the salt lake city tribune or "washington post" or one from colin powell yesterday, it had to do with barack obama the policies of the past four years and what he wants to do in the future but the fact that they have no idea what this other person is. and they have no idea who he's going to bring into the white house with him if he were to end up winning. >> as we talk about endorsements "the new yorker" had an extended endorsement of barack obama. not mitt romney. i want to read an excerpt. i thought they both argued on behalf of the president's record thus far and argued sort of the counter factual option which is, if the key note of obama's administration has been public investment whether in infrastructure, education or health, the keynote of romney's candiedisy has been private equity. a democracy cannot lay off its failing citizens. it cannot be content to leave any of its citizens behind and not the 47% who romney wishes to fire from the policy. very strong words. we've gone back and forth about who mitt romney is and how the campaign portrayed him.

strengthening as we go through time. about 380 miles south of new york city it's movement has picked up northerly about 15 miles an hour and we still expect that turn toward the west later on. this is huge. reading some technical stuff, the tropical storm force winds, diameter nearly 800 miles wide. that is huge. the second largest tropical system we've seen in the last few decades. hurricane force winds extend 150 miles out. the amount of damaging winds is about 350 to 400 miles wide. so, that's wind of over 55 miles an hour. that is a huge swath of real estate that will be impacted by damaging winds when this thing makes its way onshore. here's the latest forecast track from the national hurricane center. hopefully our graphics are updated here. it hasn't changed a whole lot. the only thing that's changed is it may come on as slightly stronger hurricane or post-tropical storm strength hurricane meaning right now we're getting into the colder air. that temperature contrast and jet stream because of that temperature contrast will add more fuel to the fire here in the next 12 to 18 howar

adult was also injured at st. andrew's catholic church in daly city. kimberly tere joins us from daly city with more for us. >> reporter: diane, you can see the markers left on the ground by investigators who were here for hours in this parking lot. the accident happened just before 9:00 this morning, just as mass was about to begin, and catechism for the kids was getting under way. so witnesses say the parking lot was very busy. according to daly city police, a woman in her 50s driving a minivan hit a mother, her child, and another woman. all three victims were taken to san francisco general hospital where the 6-year-old girl died. the two women, one 45, the other 46 years old are, still hospitalized tonight. their conditions unknown. parishioners say the accident is very upsetting, and at this afternoon's mass, the church prayed for the families involved. >> it should not have happened. the parking lot is small, like i said. and i think this guy must have come speeding. >> it's been there already. we don't know what happened. feel like someone is crying for help. >> it's a red car.
